A celebration of the life of Jimmy White, 79, of Hughes Springs will be held at 1 PM Friday, November 3, 2023 at Bradfield Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Shane Hayes officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Horn Family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Mr. White was born on February 7, 1944 in Daingerfield to Frank and Jeanette White. He passed away Monday morning, October 30, 2023 at his residence. Mr. White enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to fish, hunt, work in his garden and just spend time outdoors. He was a simple man, when he was driving, he never got in a big hurry. He drove so slow you could count the trees as you passed them. He wasn’t going to miss anything with his truck window down and his arm hanging on the side anytime the weather would allow it. When he was at home, if he wasn’t working, he would enjoy the weather from his porch. Jimmy would whittle a stick for hours. A welder by trade, Mr. White worked for Delta Fabrication for many years and took great pride in his work. He loved the Lord and as a member of the First United Pentecostal Church or Daingerfield he was so proud to use his talents to weld the handrails when the new worship center was built. He was a great provider and loved with his whole heart. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather, Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 49 years, Virgie White; granddaughter, Terry Waggoner; grandson, Jeff Richardson and brother, Lynn White. Those left to cherish his many memories include his son, Jeremy White and wife Sandy of Hughes Springs; daughters, Connie Caples of Hughes Springs, Carla Richardson of Pittsburg, Trinna Waggoner and husband Billy Wayne of New Boston; grandchildren, Kayla White, Laura White, Leah White, Ava White, all of Hughes Springs, Carrie Connor and husband David of Hughes Springs, Staci Young of Avinger, Candy Richardson of Pittsburg, Darla Young of Texarkana; numerous great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Young and husband Delwin of Hughes Springs, Janell Gilmore of Lone Star; and special lifelong best friend, Gerald Phillips of Cason.
