Funeral services for W.A. "Dan" Freeman, 80, of Lone Star will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the Chapel of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Williams of Oak Grove Baptist Church and Bro. Chad Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery. Mr. Freeman was born on June 4, 1943 to Willaim Alonzo, Sr., and Opal Marie Easley Freeman. He passed away early Sunday morning, October 1, 2023 in a Longview hospital. Services have been entrusted to the Horn Family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield.
Dan was a farmer who loved his family, his grand dogs and he loved the USA.
Dan was preceeded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Darlene Brimmer Freeman; children, Marie Leonard of Rockport, Katherine Lewis and Scott of Rockport, Sam Winkles and Anita of Lone Star, William David Freeman and Michelle of Jacksonville, Florida, Daniel Winkles and Melanie of Rockport, Theresa Slagle and Mark of Paris; mother, Opal Easley Freeman of Ore City; 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sister Barbara Crenshaw of Post; brother Jimmie Freeman and Nita of Tuttle, OK; grand dogs, Diesel, Prissy, Roxie and CoCo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
