May 11, 1979 ~ August 3, 2023

On May 11, 1979, God graced us with Sanedo “Chokie” Nickerson born to Pamela Manuel in Dallas, Texas. He was raised by his Grandmother Miss Jettie B. Nickerson. Chokie attended JW Ray Elementary School from K-3, Alex Sanger Elementary School Grades 4-6, Benjamin Franklin Grades 7-8, and on to Hillcrest High School. After leaving high school, Mr. Nickerson received his diploma and went on to further his education. He graduated college from ATI with his Mechanical Certification. As a child, he loved to ride bikes and skateboards in the neighborhood, listening, and shopping with his Aunt Sharon Wilkins who used to take him to church at Pilgrim Rest when he was younger. He also loved going to the youth Reconciliation Outreach Program with Mrs. Dorothy Moore and Carolyn White from 5th grade until high school. He was like MacGyver, he could fix or rig anything; it came naturally to him. Chokie was a comedian as well and liked to have fun whether it was at work or kicking it with his family and friends and co-workers. When he wasn’t working, he would turn up and pump his music up so loud and if he felt really good, he would bust a move. He knew his music well and even used to DJ some parties. When Chokie wanted to clear his mind, he would drive and park his car at White Rock Lake and just chill. He would always say “Only God Can Judge Me” which he tattooed on this lower arms. He worked diligently as a Mechanic until his health failed. He lived his life to the fullest. He loved to ride around the city and even took his Mother Pamela with him on his first road trip to Atlanta, GA to see his son Tyrek. He loved his kids and valued the time he spent with each of them. He will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Pamela Manuel, Grandmother, Jettie B. Nickerson and Aunt Martha Nickerson. Those left to cherish his memories are his first-born son, Tyrek (Annectria) Nickerson of Atlanta, GA and his baby girl, Angel Nickerson AKA Mama Drama #1 (her Mother Felisha Johnson which he co-parented with) of Omaha, TX; two brothers Bernard (Felicia) Nickerson of Waxahachie, TX and Reagan Nickerson of Dallas, TX and a host of nephews, nieces (special niece Jada, AKA Mama Drama #2), aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 2PM Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Samuel Wayne Murray Event Hall at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6300 South RL Thornton FWY, Dallas, Texas 75232. Burial will immediately follow in Bell Heaven Cemetery in Omaha. Services have been entrusted to the Horn Family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield. Mr. Nickerson will lie in state from 1- 5 PM, Friday, August 18, 2023 at the funeral home, 400 Webb St., Daingerfield, Texas 75638.
