Graveside services for Gene A. Bosche, 93, of Daingerfield will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Peebles officiating. Mr. Bosche was born in Los Angeles, CA on January 4, 1930. He passed away on August 4, 2023 in Okinawa, Japan while visiting family. Services have been entrusted to the Horn Family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the funeral home. With a great love for outdoors, Mr. Bosche was an avid fisherman and trapper. He served as firefighter for over 30 years, having served with the Waco Veterans Administration, TSTC in Waco and he proudly served his country with the US Army Air Corps. Mr. Bosche loved to make people smile and laugh. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Thelma; son Gene Bosche jr; and his twin brother, Dean Bosche. He leaves behind two sons, Shigeru Irea of Okinawa, Japan and Fred Bosche of Waco; one daughter, Debra Rush of Pittsburg; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Those serving as honorary pallbearers include Cameron Honeycutt, Aidan Strube, Reiko Linwood, Jeff Rodgers, Fred Bosche and Billy Carrol. "When I am gone, I want no flowers at my service. In lieu of flowers, I hope that my friends and family will just send a small donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105, Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O.   1. One of his favorite outdoor hobbies!!!

  2. Gene and Thelma were some of our very favorite customers at Fran’s Pizza. They would come in the afternoon, sit at the same table and order the same thing. We lovingly referred to them as the gumbo couple. Gene was always so very nice and pleasant, such a gentleman to his wife, carefully seating her at table. It was obvious that they were very much in love. He was very interesting and had lots of great stories. I am a better person for knowing them both. My sincere condolences. Blake Neely
