Clarice Hamlett
Clarice Hamlett
August 7, 1937 ~ June 28, 2023
Clarice died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by husband, Bill Hamlett; Mother and Father, Mabel and Clarence King; sister Glenda King and daughter Jane Grimes.
She is survived by son and wife, Terry “TJ” and Renae Dineen; Grandsons; Jonathon and wife Nicole Grimes, John Anagnostopulos, and Jared Farrell. Granddaughters; Jennifer and husband Matt Mullins, Emily and husband Johnny Vasquez; and two great grandchildren Logan and Ivy Mullins.
Clarice was born in Dyer, TN but throughout her lifetime she has lived in Chicago, Wisconsin, Sinai Peninsula, Georgia, back to TN, and her final years were spent in East Texas. Clarice worked as a legal secretary for many years. She loved adventure and challenged herself as she worked as an executive secretary in the Sinai Peninsula. Clarice had a passion for fashion and loved being the best dressed, with her fancy jackets, at the retirement home. She also had a witty sense of humor and a talent for remembering names, she never met a stranger. Clarice took on the responsibility of caring for her sister who had Alzheimer's even though her own health was failing. During her last years she fished and loved to play cards with friends and family. She loved the Lord, sang alto in the church choir, and knew the scripture. She will be missed.
The family would like to thank Transcend Hospice for the love, care, and peace that Billy, Seth, Lorraine, and Tiffany gave to her and the family.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 30, 2023 in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer, TN. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM prior to the service. Services have been entrusted to the Horn family at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield.

My condolences, heart and prayers go out to my dear friends Terry and Renae as well as their family, friends and loved ones for the loss of their precious treasured jewel, Mrs. Clarice. I was privileged to spend several priceless minutes and moments with Mrs. Clarice last Sunday along with Terry and Renae. She and I bonded immediately, sharing a love for Jesus and song. I know Mrs. Clarice is now leading that heavenly choir. I am both proud and honored to have been her chaplain if only for a few minutes. We now have a friendship that will last forever. She paid me the greatest honor ever. She said she enjoyed my presence.

I thought a lot of this woman. Not only was she a client, but a friend from way back when Jane and Terry would come to our house when we were growing up. Thoughts and prayers for the family ๐
So sorry to hear of Clariceโs passing. She was my cousin. We lived on the same street growing up. Lots of childhood memories. Condolences and prayers for her family. ๐๐
