December 1, 1937 ~ June 17, 2023

Emma Frances Martin, 85 of Daingerfield, Texas went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2023 while surrounded by her family. Emma was born in Matador, Texas on December 1, 1937 to Ira Lee and Linnie Mae Slover. In July of 1954, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, M.L. Martin and they spent the next 67 years building a beautiful life together. Emma was the epitome of graciousness and spread kindness and love wherever she went. Emma was employed at the Sewing Factory in Daingerfield for many years and spent the rest of her time as a beloved homemaker and foundation of her family. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Daingerfield where she played a lead role in decorating for many of the events and contributed to the interior design of the new building. Emma’s greatest joy came from surrounding herself with family and friends. Her talents were boundless as seen through her creation of numerous tea sets, dolls and jewelry as well as her knack for cooking, decorating and sewing. We will forever miss her warm embrace, the loving sparkle in her eye, and the occasional shaking of her finger in our direction. There could not have been a better wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother or friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Lynn and Linnie Slover; Her brothers Cecil Slover and wife Marie and Keith Slover and wife Katie; as well as her sister Wanda Davis and husband Herb. Emma leaves behind a great legacy through her loving husband, M.L. Martin of Daingerfield; son Craig Martin of Rocky Branch; Daughter Kim Greenlee of Lone Star; Brother and sister-in-law Jim and JoAnne Slover of Longview, Brother and sister-in-law Gary and Judy Slover of McGregor; Grandchildren Christopher Martin, Neal Martin, Laura Beth Fosset and Kristie Hudspeth; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. 1. My prayers are with all, Emma was loved by everyone. She always had a smile and we loved to laugh together. I will never forget when she got her shoes stuck in the mud in front of her home, after walking to see me. M.L. was so good to her and loved her very much.🙏❤️🙏

  2. One of the sweetest and funniest ladies I have been blessed to know, she and M.L. gave me such a strong start to my walk with Christ. I will miss her laugh, her funny words of wisdom and her never ending great attitude about living. Heaven is rejoicing to have her home.

  3. Mrs. Emma was a wonderful example of a fine christian lady. Loved her all my life.
