Patricia Wiedenman
Patricia Wiedenman
August 16, 1930 ~ April 10, 2023
Patricia was born in Pittsburgh, PA. As the third daughter of Thelma Louise Acosta and Wilbur Maxime Acosta. Pat followed in the footsteps of her hard-working parents – perfect attendance in Sunday School, piano lessons, excellent grades, and a college education. She started at Monmouth College (Illinois) and completed a BA at Penn State University, where she met her husband, John. Following graduation and their wedding in June 1952, Pat taught kindergarten for a year before staying home to raise their family. She always had the heart of a teacher. Pat desired and sought the truth, leading her to salvation in Jesus Christ at age 30. Her surrender to Jesus Christ transformed her life.
She has passed on a consistent legacy of faith to her three children – Dona L Eggar (Jack), David Wiedenman, and Diane Riggenbach (Scott) – 10 grandchildren and spouses, along with 17 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband John E Wiedenman, her parents, as well as her sisters Maxine and Kathryn, all of whom she was instrumental in pointing to Jesus her Savior and Lord.
Pat’s life has been characterized by Proverbs 31.
Verse 26: “She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Verse 28: “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”
Verse 30: “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Pat’s joy in life was loving Jesus first and living to please Him. She cherished and prayed faithfully for her family and those she cared for. Pat diligently studied God’s Word to apply to her own life. All who knew her felt her love for Jesus and them. She would want to point to Jesus, crediting Him for the fruit of her life. Truly God can say of her, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
