Virginia Rose Hall
Virginia Rose Hall
August 7, 1930 ~ March 27, 2023
Mrs. Virginia Hall passed away Monday March 27 in Pittsburg, Texas after a brief illness. She was born Virginia Rose Robertson on August 7, 1930 in Weinert, Texas, the first daughter of J.W. Martin Robertson and Ruby Nadine Wheatley Robertson. Virginia grew up in Kilgore, Texas, where she attended school and graduated from Kilgore High School in 1948. She married Billy Harris of Kilgore in 1948 and welcomed her first daughter Susan several years later. Billy Harris worked in the oilfield services industry in several exotic locations. Virginia and Susan lived in Venezuela, Colombia and Bolivia during the 1950s and 60s, and Virginia often related interesting stories of their adventures living there. Virginia and Billy welcomed their second daughter Julie during their time living in Colombia.
In the late 1960s, Virginia found herself living back in Texas as a single mother, raising two daughters. After years away from school, she embarked on an education in the field of nursing. The schoolwork and training were difficult, but Virginia persevered and became a registered nurse, her true calling in life. She went on to work in several different East Texas hospitals and clinics over the next several decades. In 1973, Virginia married William Hall of Pittsburg, TX, where she settled and lived as matriarch of her extended family for the rest of her life.
Virginia had a vivacious, open, generous and loving personality and will be deeply missed by her family, to whom her strong Christian faith continues to be an inspiration. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Ruby Robertson, her husband William Hall, her first husband Billy Harris, her grandson Bobby Fitch, and her great-grandson Andrew Loyd. She is survived by her daughter Susan Loyd of Pittsburg, TX; daughter Julie (Andy) McKinney of Manvel, TX; grandsons Jason Fitch (Marcia) of Pittsburg, TX; Jeremy Loyd of Tyler, TX; sister Norma Russell of Tyler, TX; and great-grandson Kaleb Fitch of College Station, TX, who grew up living with Virginia and Susan. Additional survivors include six other great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services and burial will take place in Haskell, TX on Friday March 31. There will be a time of family visitation and viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home in Daingerfield, 400 Webb Street.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of my Aunt Virginia. Her love and kindness always brightened my life, and I was truly blessed to have her in my family. May she rest in peace and be blessed by the presence of her loved ones that preceded her in death. She will live forever in my heart!
