Funeral services for Elvie Croley, 90, of Daingerfield will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2022 at Veal Switch Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes Springs with Bro. Michael Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home of Daingerfield. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the funeral home. Mrs. Croley was born on April 2, 1932 in Hughes Springs to Elvie and Elma Rowe. She passed away on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022 in a Hughes Springs nursing facility. Mrs. Croley loved flowers and sewing quilts for her family and friends having made all of her grandchildren their own blankets. She enjoyed playing card games like "Canasta" and "Crazy Rummy" and loved her family dinners on Sundays. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Mrs. Croley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen Croley; daughter-in-law, Sherry Croley; sister, Corine Littlefield; brothers, James Callaway "Buck" Rowe, John Rowe, Earnest Rowe, George Rowe. Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Dewey Croley of Daingerfield, Loyd Croley and wife Freda of Daingerfield, Bubba Croley and wife Robin of Daingerfield; daughters, Karen Duff and husband Billy of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Graves and husband Jason of Daingerfield, Donna Kirl and husband, Preston of Daingerfield; sister, Bonnie Pace and husband John of Avinger, brothers, Barney Rowe of Longview, Will Rowe and wife Doris of Avinger; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
