Barbara Harris

Barbara A. Harris, 81, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2022, at Medical City Dallas Hospital. She was born December 16, 1940, in Hinckley, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Vera Irons. Barbara graduated from Hinckley High School, class of 1958. She married and settled in the Hinckley area and had four children. She moved to Texas in 1980 and opened her own flower shop. She resided in the Dallas area until around 1998 when she met and married Herb Harris and moved to Lone Star, Texas. They celebrated their 24th anniversary in February, 2022. She was a loyal member of Eastern Star, Pandora and the Red Hatters. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving in addition to her husband, Herb Harris, are her son, Donald Gilman (Ariann) of New England, ND; daughters Renee Petersen (Kevin) of Hinckley, MN, Lori Gray (Rick) of Pine City, MN, and Melissa Brown (Rick) of Lindale, TX; step daughters Linda Coker (Rick) of Mansfield, TX, Hillary Vallie (John) of Little Rock, AR, and Hope Engle (Tim) of Melbourne, FL; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 15 at Daingerfield First Baptist Church, 202 West WM Watson Blvd., Daingerfield, Texas. Services are under the direction of Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home, 400 Webb St. Daingerfield, TX.
