Jo Ann Chapman TruittDaingerfield- Services for Jo Ann Chapman Truitt, 85 of Daingerfield will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Danny Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Blevins Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Jo Ann was born on February 12, 1932 in Daingerfield to Lester and Ollie Mae Chapman. She died on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Longview.She was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jo Ann began her nursing career with the late Dr. Rutledge and completed her career at Titus Regional medical Center.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Truitt, brothers Leon and James Allen Chapman, grandchildren Frank Thompson and Greg Stoermer.Survived by daughter Cherry Stoermer of Denton; sons and daughters-in-law Paul Truitt of Lake Jackson, Mike and Judy Truitt of Daingerfield, Marc and Cheryl Truitt of Granbury; 9 grandchildren Chris Stoermer, Misty Johnston, Tim Stoermer, Bill Worthington, Jennifer Petersen, Amy Bonham, Joe Bob Thompson, Ashley Pooler and Triston McMurry; 28 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

I remember hearing stories of the early days from Dad, and Jo Ann’s name came up often. I also remember stopping in Truitt Electric to say hello whenever I looked in and saw her there. She was always so upbeat. I’m sure she leaves behind many heavy hearts, but I prefer to think of her catching Kenneth up on all the Truitt goings on while adjusting to the Glory surrounding her.
