Daingerfield- Services for George Eugene "Pete" Ellison, 97 of Longview will be held 2:p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at South Union Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Thompson and Josh Croswell officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Pete was born on February 12, 1922 in Morris County to Bernice Eugene and Mary Susan Elizabeth Ellison. He died on Monday, April 15, 2019.He was a member of South Union Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Pete was a member of Woodman of the World and a veteran of the U S Army serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Frito Lay as a station engineer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy Faye "Bobbie" Ellison, son Doyle Gwenn Ellison, brothers J. C. Ellison, J.D. Ellison, James R. Ellison, sisters LaNelle Kirkpartick, Lonita Davis, Martha Ann Ellison and Joyce Currey.Survived by daughter Dolores Ellison Gardner of Longview; son Danny Ellison and wife Angela of Cleveland, Mississippi; brother Bernie Ellison of Sugarland and sister Theda Cook of Daingerfield; grandchildren Emily Brasher, Rebel Stewart and husband Daniel, Candace Ellison, Namow Ellison, Ashley Ellison, Peter Ellison, Donley Gardner and Sara Gardner Farris; 7 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m.Thursday at the funeral home.Online condolences may be made at Nail-Haggard FH.com

  5. I know how much Pete meant to all of you. I grew up hearing “Pete and Bobbie”, “Bobbie and Pete”. He was a close friend of my family and probably most of the people in Daingerfield also. It is always difficult to lose someone we love but as I get older and look forward to the afterlife, I just think, God has another one in his hands. God bless all of you.
