Graveside services for Stephen "Steve" Willis Gifford will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Cemetery in Daingerfield, Texas. Steve was born to Stephen Louveen Gifford and Grace Albritton in Red River County, Texas on November 26, 1933 and passed away on February 15, 2018 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.Steve spent the majority of his childhood and adolescence being raised by his grandparents in Deport, Texas. He graduated from Clarksville High School where he was an All-State football player and went on to play at Paris Junior College. He married Ann Bryarly Hale on June 6, 1954 and they were married for 56 years at the time of her death. Steve spent the majority of his career working for Lone Star Steel Company. Steve was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was very involved in his childrens' activities. Some of his favorite times were spent watching his children and his grandchildren on Friday nights playing in the band and on the football field.Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ann Gifford; his son Stephen "Stevie" Willis Gifford, II; and his grandson, William Todd Moore.He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth & Byron Moore of Sapulpa, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Grant & Caroline Gifford of Ft. Worth, TX; his grandchildren, Chris Moore and his wife Maegan; Gavin Gifford, Alexis Gifford & Brady Gifford; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Maeric Moore & Madison Moore, and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Steve's name to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Daingerfield, TX or to the Alzheimer's Association.
