James Robert WalkerDaingerfield- Services for James Robert Walker, 91 of Daingerfield will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Daingerfield Church of Christ with Tim Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Jim was born on December 28, 1924 in Daingerfield to Willie Dee and Lillie Walker. He died on November 30, 2016 in Pittsburg.Jim was a member of the Church of Christ in Daingerfield. He served in the U S Army from February 1943 till February 1946. While in Germany he was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor.After graduating from East Texas State University in 1949 he was employed at General Dynamics. He was then called back to service again in the Army in 1951 and 1952.Jim was employed at the National Bank of Daingerfield for 30 years and was a former president. He took employment at Lone Star State Bank until he retired in 1986. At the time of his death he was on the Board of Directors of Community Bank Longview.He loved to hunt, fish and those Daingerfield Tigers.Jim was especially grateful for his friendship with Billy and Diane Gibson of Longview, Sheila O'Neal of Daingerfield and Ann Butcher of Sache.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother J. C. Walker; sisters LaVerne Falls and Ollie Jones.Survived by his wife Helen Cornett Walker of Daingerfield; daughter Candy Spradlin of Colleyville; granddaughter Ashley Atkinson and husband Zach; great grandsons Landry and Gage Atkinson; sister Sue Sloan of Daingerfield; brother and sister-in-law Welton "Dude" and Carolyn Walker of Daingerfield; many nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 Friday at the funeral home.

Candy and Helen, I thought the world of Jim, he and my Dad were very good friends. Jimmy and I will see you Saturday.
