I went through the DPS recruit school with Marvin in 1968 and went to highway patrol, as he did. The last time I saw him was our graduation day in Dec., 1968, but I often thought of him. He was a good guy. Marvin was a few years older than me..I was 21, I think he was around 30. It was tough physical work, a lot of classroom work. My condolences to his family. He was a special man and friend when I was younger.
To the Family & Extended Family of Marvin Maberry, with deepest regrets and condolences & abiding respect. Marvin was a consummate professional and the best accident investigator that I ever knew. The DPS knew that and named Marvin to an elite ten-member Accident Investigation Expert Panel for the State of Texas. Marvin was humble and down to Earth. He was very dry-witted and had a unique outlook on life. Marvin served his God, Family, Country and State with Honor and Distinction. He was a great Human Being & I felt extremely fortunate to be able to call him my friend. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die…..
