Marion Leslie (M.L.) AlexanderDaingerfield- Services for Marion Leslie (M.L.) Alexander, 88 of Daingerfield will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Don Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Daingerfield Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.M. L. was born on July 24, 1927 in Winters, Texas to Samuel Leslie and Laura Allen Alexander. He died on Monday, July 11, 2016 in Daingerfield.M. L. served in the U S Navy in WWII and was in the harbor after the bombing of Hiroshima. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended Hardin Simmons University until his father became ill and he went to help with a family business.While on vacation from a job at Haliburton, he started working at Lone Star Steel in 1953 where he retired in 1986 after 331/2 years. After a few years of retirement, Mr. Alexander was hired at the Daingerfield Housing Authority as maintenance director.He also started a small screen business and enjoyed it until his health declined in 2005. He served faithfully as a Deacon at First Baptist Church since 1955. He is a 50 year member of the Oasis Masonic Lodge #79, member of Scottish Rite Shriners, and served over 10 times as the Worthy Patron for the Order of the Eastern Star # 906 in Daingerfield. M. L. loved everyone and it didn't take him long to ask about your faith as he began to get to know you. He loved his family and it was important for him to know they knew his Lord.He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandson Tyler Alexander.Survived by his wife of 69 years Eva Kimbrell Alexander of Daingerfield; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Bobby Baker of Daingerfield; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Nita Alexander of Daingerfield; grandchildren Amy Calk and husband Jon, Nicholas Alexander and wife Kelley, April Driggers and husband Michael, Caroline Gifford and husband Grant and Daniel Alexander and wife Alys; 17 great grandchildren.Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Daingerfield. Family will receive friends from 6 till 8 P. M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

My deepest condolences to the family of M.L. Many years ago he and Eva were our neighbors. Lots of visiting those years. M.L. was a true Christian and friend to all. May he rest in peace. And Eva and family you are in my prayers.
