Derek A. JonesDaingerfield- A celebration of life for Derek A. Jones, 23 of Denton will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Lone Star Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Monds and Bro. Mitch Byrd officiating.Derek was born on January 29, 1992 in Dallas, Texas and died on January 8, 2016 in Dallas. Derek proudly graduated from Daingerfield High School in 2010. He was excited to be a grown up and live on his own in group homes. Derek went to live in Denton, Texas in July 2014 near his mother. He attended United Hands Dayhab daily where he made many friends. Derek is remembered for his loving spirit and joyful presence. He enjoyed going to Wrestling matches and watching WWE on TV with his Dad. He idolized Wrestler, John Cena and collected all his action figures. He enjoyed counting his money and going to Wal-Mart. Derek loved Mexican food; watching Westerns & Walker Texas Ranger, and Wheel of Fortune with Grandma Bonnie Jones; He loved Country Music and singing while riding in the car with Mom or Dad. He also loved going fishing with his Dad. Derek was preceded in death by two Grand fathers that he loved dearly; Lewis Jones of Lone Star and Charlie Wiley of Hide-Away Lake Estates. He was also preceded in death by Uncle Doug Jones of Houston. Derek is survived by his Father, Larry Jones and Tina Sparks of Lone Star; Mother, Karla Wiley Jones of Denton; Sister, Stephanie Kearney and her partner in life, Alex Johnson of Carlsbad, CA; Brother, Sean Jones of US Airforce in Okinawa, Japan; Grandmother, Bonnie Jones of Lone Star; Aunt, Linda Huggins of Fort Worth and daughter, Wendy Huggins and her children, Madison, Kayden, and Justin; Uncle, Lewis Jones, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Midlothian and their sons, Ethan and Aaron Jones; Uncle, Alvin Jones of Lone Star and daughters, Erika Jones and her children, JJ, and Skylar; and Tessa Jones; Aunt, Kelley Huddleston and husband Junior of Irving; and their son Ryan Jones and wife Britney and their children Kaylee & Peyton; Cousin, Randy Sims and his son Jude; Uncle, Tony Jones of Lone Star; Aunt, Karen Wiley and her daughters, Sophia and Olivia Bono of Denton; Uncle, Dale Romano and wife Lisa and their son Xander of Wiley; Aunt, Michelle Atwood and husband, Andrew of Arlington, and their son Michael Atwood and wife Liz; Grand-Mother, Janet Wiley Burns of West Virginia; Step-Grand-Mother, Bonnie Adams and daughter Leslie Adams of Massachusetts; Grand-Father, Gene Romano and wife Judy of Indiana. As well as a very large extended family and many friends.
