Jerry Irvin officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.LaVerne was born on October 6, 1926 in Kiamichi, Ok., to John R. Ellison and Ruby Alice Boatright. She died on Saturday July 5, 2014 in Marshall.LaVerne was a member of the Jenkins United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Melvin Helton. She is survived by: sons and daughters-in-law; Vic and Delia Helton of Jefferson, Johny and Lisa Helton of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and Dean Skelton of Daingerfield;Grandchildren; Kim and Terry Sangalang, Rena Helton, Scott Helton, Brian Helton;great-granddaughter, Alexis Helton. Several Nieces and Nephews.Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Monday preceding services at the Church.
