Alton Andrew Smoak, Jr.Daingerfield- Funeral services for Alton Andrew Smoak, Jr., 77, of Bridgton, Maine will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Francis O'Dowd officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Alton was born April 4, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts to Alton A. and Marie Bertha Smoak, Sr. He died on Friday, April 3, 2015 in Auburn, Maine.Alton was retired from LSS as a chemist and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Nicholas Angus, granddaughter Amber Smoak, great grandson Baylor Reel, and great granddaughter Jaylyne ReelHe is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Alton A. Smoak III and Brenda of Marietta, Chris Smoak and Siglinda of Linden, William Smoak and Brittany of Hughes Springs, Greg Smoak and Sandy of Hughes Springs and Matt Smoak of Daingerfield, daughters and sons-in-law Anastasia Kazyak of Katy, Bernadette Reel and Louis of Ore City, and Genia Angus and Pete of Bellville, brother Tommy Smoak and wife Sheila of Lafayette, La., sister Carol Brignac and husband Don of Arlington, 30 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildrenA Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the Funeral home with visitation to follow till 8:00 P.M.

  2. A co-worker, a friend and a truly interesting person to have known. I have many fond memories of Al. We shared many meals together while at LSS Lab. I knew all you kids while you were young and growing up. Hope you remember our deer hunts, hauling hay for me and swimming at my house. May the Lord bring comfort to all of you.
