Charles Kenneth OliveDaingerfield- Funeral services for Charles Kenneth Olive, 84, of Lone Star will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Daingerfield with Dr. Tim Wade and Norman Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.He was born January 25, 1928 in Haynesville, La. and died Monday, May 14, 2012 in Longview. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church and retired Chief Geologist for Lone Star Steel for 38 years. He was a veteran of the Texas National Guard and attended the University of Texas and received his BS from Centenary College in Shreveport in 1968.He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn "Kitty" Olive.Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Mike Gilmore of Daingerfield; son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Jan Olive of Daingerfield; grandchildren, Patrick Gilmore of Rockwall, Vanessa Gilmore Chisler of Lindale, Claire Olive Schmit of Austin, and Riley Olive of Daingerfield; great grandchildren, Garrett Gilmore and Austin Chisler. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Choir.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
