Ray Dean DerrickDaingerfield-Funeral services for Ray Dean Derrick, 71, of Longview will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 26, 2011 at South Union Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jay Smith, Bro. Chad Thompson and Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home. Mr. Derrick was born February 14, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant and died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Marshall.Ray was a member of Mobberly Baptist in Longview and worked with the youth at South Union Missionary Baptist Church, Greggton Missionary Baptist Church, Sunset Missionary Baptist Church and Marshall Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army National Guard. Ray also worked as an accountant in the Oil and Gas Industry and was President of the East Texas Boot Scooters.Survived by his wife, Sonya Derrick of Longview; daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda and Chris Young of Van Buren, Ark., Michelle Worley of Longview; grandchildren, Jessica White of Baytown, Derrick Stone of Tyler and Amber Worley of Whitehouse; great granddaughter, Kaylee Harman of Baytown.   2. Lost touch over the years, but recall many fond memories of playing together in Mt. Pleasant so many years ago. Of going to the lakes and camping. Way too young to go.

  25. Grandad, I miss u so much! The last thing u told me Wednesday morning was Have a MAAAVELOUS day!I love u Grandad! I will miss ur waffles and hearing u wake up so early every saturday morning! I will always remember what u told me “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoiced and be glad in it.” I remember everyday when u got home from work i would ask how was your day and u would say SIMPLY MAAVELOUS!
