Rick Monds officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Carolyn was born February 6, 1942 in Jenkins and died Thursday, November 24, 2011 in Mt. Pleasant.She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, Treasurer for Women's Missionary Union Leadership Team for Harmony-Pittsburg Baptist Association. Carolyn was the director of WMU for Lone Star Baptist Church. She was retired Credit Clerk at Pilgrim's.Survived by her husband, Samuel D. McCord of Lone Star; daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha and Tomas Vazquez of Mt. Pleasant, Kristy and Jerry Brown of Hughes Springs; Brothers, Larry Owens of Daingerfield, Jimmy Owens of Front Royal, Va., Kenneth Owens of Kilgore; granddaughters, Britney Brown of Hughes Springs, Sadie Brown of Hughes Springs, Jessica Vazquez of Mt. Pleasant, Juliette Vazquez of Mt. Pleasant and Kacee Vazquez of Mt. Pleasant.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. I only knew Mrs. McCord for a short time when I worked at The Vills, but enjoyed visiting with her and her husband so much. The love the two had for each other was such a blessing to witness. She was such a sweet lady. Her family will be in my prayers in the days ahead.
