Mary Lou NixDaingerfield- Funeral services for Mary Lou Nix, 104, of Daingerfield Will be held at 10:30 Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Nail-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Dan Gilliam and Bro. Chad Thompson officiating.Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.Mrs. Nix was born November 20, 1908 in Cookville and died Monday, April 15, 2013 in Daingerfield.Mary Lou was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a retired teacher.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Nix.Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and B. C. Fowler of Daingerfield; grandson, Benson Fowler and wife Cindy of Rowlett; great grandchildren, Bethany Murdock and husband Jared of Austin, Katelyn Fowler of Austin, and Burton Fowler of Commerce; several nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends from 9:00 till 10:30 Friday at the funeral home.Online condolences may be made at Nail-HaggardFH.com

  2. My deepest condolences to the family of my first-grade teacher, Mrs. Nix. She was a wonderful teacher and I have never forgotten her. She was also my little brother’s first teacher. He died in 1966 when he was 7 and she attended his funeral. I was very lucky to have Mrs. Nix as my first teacher.
