William Everett "Bill" Newman, Jr.Daingerfield- Funeral services for William Everett "Bill" Newman, Jr., 67, of Daingerfield will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at South Union Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Thompson and Josh Crosswell officiating. Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery under the direction of Nail-Haggard Funeral Home.Bill was born May 23, 1945 in Portsmouth, Ohio and died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in Daingerfield.Bill was a member of South Union Baptist Church and retired from Detroit Steel in New Boston, Ohio and Lone Star Steel. He enjoyed boating, building and designing motorized airplanes. Bill also enjoyed working on electrical motors and playing the guitar.Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Emogene Newman.Survived by his wife, Sheila Newman of Daingerfield; sons & daughters-in-law, Matthew & Allison Newman of San Antonio,Tx., David & Tricia Newman of Bellaire, Tx.; daughters & sons-in-law, Kristen & Ben Smith of Cumming, Ga., Laura & Raghu Varier of Salt Lake City, Utah; step-sons, Brent Strawn & wife Kristin of Austin, Blake Strawn of Daingerfield; father, William Everett Newman, Sr. of Wheelersburg, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law, Teri & Glen Cunningham of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Becky & Ed Thiel of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Robyn & Danny Thomas of Delaware, Ohio; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Billy & Mary Nix of Daingerfield; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Dennis & Paula Nix of Daingerfield; grandchildren, Alex Smith, Kate Newman, Ellarie & Charlie Newman, Rohan Varier, Hannah, Hollye, Tucker, & Lane Strawn.Beloved pets & companions, Jesse & Bubba Newman.Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Bill was a cousin of ours. His grandfather Frank Newman was a brother to John E. Newman, Nita’s father and my grandfather. We send our condolences to his family. So sorry to hear of his passing.
