Heather Renae Risner, a kind, gentle, and loving soul, passed away unexpectedly on August 5, 2026, after being taken to the emergency room in Pittsburg, Texas. She was 48 years old. Though she was taken from us far too soon, her bright smile, warmth, and enduring legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Heather was born on May 22, 1978, in Clayton, New Mexico. From her early years in New Mexico to her time in Texas, she brought beauty and joy into the world. She possessed a vibrant passion for life, finding deep fulfillment in the arts, exploring nature on outdoor adventures, and expressing her creativity through culinary works.

More than her hobbies, Heather was known for her immense empathy. She had a rare gift for listening, offering a compassionate ear and helping hand to anyone facing a problem. Her presence could effortlessly light up any room. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her mother’s side of the family in heaven and in her beloved hometown of Clayton, New Mexico.

Heather is survived by her deeply loving husband, Jonathan Eugene Risner; her cherished son, Bud Anthony Cruz-Rodriguez; her devoted father, Arturo Flores; and her beloved brother, Jesus Flores. She is also remembered by an extensive circle of extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched so profoundly.

At the request of her father, Arturo Flores, services to pay last respects and honor Heather’s life will be held in the Amarillo, Texas area this upcoming weekend.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Horn Family Funeral Home.
