Ray Arch Parton II, 86, passed away on February 25, 2026. He was born October 29, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to Ray Arch Parton I and Iris Grissom.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 25 years. After his military service, he worked for Exxon Oil and Gas for 20 years before retiring.
A devoted man of faith, Ray served as a Chaplain and was known by many as a man of God who lived a life marked by faith, service, and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nita Parton; his son, Ray Parton III; and his sister, Mary Kate.
He is survived by his grandson, Stephen Parton; granddaughter-in-law, Christen Parton; great-granddaughter, Claire Parton; and sister, Virginia Wilson.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at First Baptist Church in Neches, Texas, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Cremations arrangements have been entrusted to Horn Family Funeral Home.
