Resided in:
Daingerfield, Texas
Paul James Davis, age 80, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026.
Paul was born on February 26, 1945, in Mart, Texas, to Stanley and Cordie Davis. Throughout his life, Paul lived in many places, but in his later years he made his home in Daingerfield.
Paul devoted over 30 years of service as a clerk with the United States Postal Service. Outside of work, music was one of his greatest passions. An accomplished guitarist, Paul loved playing music with his friends and sharing that joy by performing at nursing homes, churches, and local lounges. He especially cherished teaching his family to play the guitar, passing along both his skills and his love of music.
Paul also loved to travel and preferred to see the country by road, always behind the wheel—true to form, driving a Ford every mile of the way.
Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Linda Kay Davis; his parents, Stanley and Cordie Davis; and his sisters, Ruth and Jean.
He is survived by his son, Mike Davis and wife Morgan, of Murphy, Texas; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Cadyn, Brody, and Charley; and numerous nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Horn Family Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Daingerfield Cemetery.

Paul was kind and caring person. He shared his talent of music with many, including my dad and at church, Jamming for Jesus. He will be missed.
I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH PAUL IN MART, TX. HE WAS A REALLY NICE GUY. I MISS HIM ON FACEBOOK. WE STAYED IN CONTACT ON FACEBOOK AND HE ALWAYS HAD JOKES AND LOTS OF TEXAS KNOWLEDGE TO SHARE. I’M SORRY THAT I WON’T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT SATURDAY BECAUSE I LIVE IN MICHIGAN BUT I PASSED THE INFO TO OTHER CLASSMATES IN TEXAS. I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT HIS PASSING THIS MORNING. SENDING PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY
So sorry 😞 Prayers to the family. I had been wondering how Paul was doing.
