Maurine Nix

Maurine Nix, born August 8, 1945, in Tyler, Texas, gently passed from this life surrounded by love on Thursday evening, November 6, 2025. She grew up in Daingerfield, where she was a proud graduate of Daingerfield High School and a member of First Baptist Church.

In 1981, Maurine married her high school sweetheart, Guy Marlon Nix. Together they made their home in Wichita, Kansas, for many years before returning to Daingerfield after retirement.

The joy of Maurine’s life was her daughter Louanne Criscuolo and her grandsons Joe, Dylan, and Kyle, who lit every corner of her world.

Maurine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Guy Marlon; her daughter Louanne; her parents Lewis and Nollie Mayne; and her sister Marianne Camp.

She is survived by her sister Betty Swann and husband Elam; her grandsons Dylan Criscuolo, Kyle Criscuolo, and Joe Criscuolo; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jeanie Pollan, Gary Lynn and Sandi Nix, and Carol Ann and Harold Nix, along with two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Sandi and Gary Lynn Nix for their love, support, and unwavering care; to Norma and Jonathan Nix and their daughters Victoria, Isabella, and Sofia for their sweet visits; and to Hilda Novella, whose tender care brought comfort and companionship to Maurine in her final season.

A celebration of Maurine’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Horn Family Funeral Home, with graveside services following at County Line Cemetery.
